Best Books for Competitive Exams
Curated book list for TNPSC, TRB, TNUSRB, SSC, and Bank exam preparation. Each book is reviewed for its actual usefulness — not just popularity.
How to use this list
- Start with Samacheer Kalvi — TNPSC syllabus is based on TN State Board Classes 6–12. No guide book replaces the textbooks.
- Add RS Aggarwal for aptitude — all TNPSC groups test quantitative aptitude from the same syllabus.
- Add Lakshmikanth for polity — 15–25 polity marks in Group 1 and Group 2 come directly from this book.
- Use Sura's for TN-specific topics — Tamil Nadu history, geography, and economy that standard books miss.
