Term 2 Unit Test — Class 8 Mathematics

Time: 2 hoursMaximum Marks: 50

Section A — One Mark (10 × 1 = 10)

1. State the angle sum property of a triangle. 2. Which criterion uses two sides and the included angle? 3. The point (4, −3) lies in Quadrant ________. 4. Write the distance formula between two points. 5. Find the distance from origin to (5, 12). 6. In a parallelogram, consecutive angles are ________. 7. Name the quadrilateral whose diagonals bisect at right angles. 8. The mean of 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 is ________. 9. In which quadrant are both coordinates negative? 10. How many faces does a cuboid have?

Section B — Three Mark Questions (5 × 3 = 15)

11. In triangle ABC, angle A = 50°, angle B = 65°. Find angle C and the exterior angle at C. 12. Plot the points A(2, 3), B(−1, 4), and C(0, −2) on a Cartesian plane and identify the quadrant for each. 13. Find the distance between P(1, 2) and Q(4, 6). Show all steps. 14. In parallelogram ABCD, angle A = 80°. Find all four angles. 15. Find the mean and mode of: 5, 7, 5, 9, 8, 5, 7, 6.

Section C — Five Mark Questions (5 × 5 = 25)

16. In triangles PQR and XYZ, PQ = XY = 4 cm, QR = YZ = 6 cm, and angle Q = angle Y = 55°. Prove that △PQR ≅ △XYZ. State all corresponding equal parts.

17. Show that the points A(0, 0), B(5, 0), and C(0, 12) form a right-angled triangle. Find the length of the hypotenuse using the distance formula.

18. ABCD is a parallelogram with AB = 8 cm and angle A = 70°. Find: (a) all four angles, (b) BC length if the perimeter is 26 cm.

19. The marks of 8 students in a test are 72, 85, 90, 68, 75, 85, 92, 80. Find the mean, median, and mode. Which measure best represents the data?

20. Draw the graphs of y = x + 1 and y = −x + 5 on the same axes. Find the intersection point and verify it satisfies both equations.
